  19. Subject: Font Substitution when Sending Faxes

  21. Situation:

  23. The font you select does not fax with WinFax. WinFax substitutes the
  24. selected font with another font.
  25.  
  26. Solution:
  27. =========
  28. WinFax can fax documents from any Windows application. The fonts
  29. available to the WinFax ■printer■ depend on the Windows environment.
  30. If the fonts selected in the Windows application have been generated
  31. by a font driver installed in Windows or are TrueType fonts, they
  32. should print properly to the WinFax device. If, on the other hand, the
  33. fonts you select are resident in the printer (i.e., built into the
  34. printer, in a cartridge, or are downloaded), they will not be
  35. available to WinFax when the document is faxed. The fonts you select
  36. for a document depend completely on the printer you select as the
  37. default printer in the Windows Control Panel.

  39. All Windows applications will display the list of fonts the current
  40. printer can print. When WinFax is the default printer, or is the
  41. active printer, the list of fonts displayed only includes fonts that
  42. can be printed to the WinFax device. The list of fonts will include
  43. all TrueType fonts, any fonts created by a scaling font driver, and
  44. some additional fonts that exist at the resolution of the WinFax
  45. device.
